Formal description:

Hand made bonsai pot from the Yamaaki Kiln, rectangle with straight angled sides, slight internal rim, integrated feet, green crystalline glaze, signature and seal of Toshio, 3rd Gen. of Yamaaki kiln.

External dimensions:
195 x 156 x 82mm (8⅝ x 6⅛ x 3¼ in)

Internal dimensions:
165 x 128 x 69mm (6½ x 5 x 2¾ in)

Informal information:

A simple masculine shape, with a great varied crystalline glaze. The crystallisation tells a story about the pots place in the kiln, the short side with more black crystallisation was towards the centre, the opposite side cooled down faster, less crystals. On the long sides, you can see a varied gradient between the two.
Regarding photos, now days are longer I'm trying to shoot more in natural light, the first six are in natural light, I think the colour is more accurate in these.

Condition: Used, excellent.

YamaakiThe kiln was started by Katakoka Akitsuga and fired by three generations of potters, until it finally went 'cold' in 2011. It was the most productive bonsai pot kiln in Tokoname, fired with gas which gives those fantastic clay colours mimicking the pots of ancient China.
