Formal description:
Shohin Japanese bonsai pot by Seiko of Tokoname. Hand pressed in a mould and hand finished. Rectangle with slight internal rim, rounded corners and moulded feet, Ruri-Yu glaze over. Seal of Seiko underneath.
External dimensions:
123 x 95 x 33mm (4⅞ x 3¾ x 1⅜ in)
Internal dimensions:
106 x 77 x 29mm (4⅛ x 3 x 1⅛ in)
Informal information:
Mould construction then hand finished, classic "Ruri-Yu" dark cobalt glaze. Clearly been used for a considerable time. There are some scratches to the glaze, please see the photos, but still a great value Shohin pot from Seiko.
Condition: Used, good, some light scratches to glaze, see photos.
Seiko is a Tokoname maker, but I have no other details currently.
