Formal description:
Shohin Chinese/Japanese bonsai pot by Kohshunohsei (Kinbon), mokko shape, external rim, moulded feet, recessed base, blue Ruri-Yu glaze, seal of Kohshunohsei underneath.
External dimensions:
114 x 105 x 54mm (4½ x 4 x 2⅛ in)
Internal dimensions:
92 x 83 x 29mm (3⅝ x 3¼ x 1⅛ in)
Informal information:
Pots made by this kiln were made in China to a specification set by Kinbon, a big Japanese bonsai publisher and supplier. The pots came into being to satisfy increased demand in Japan for quality pots whilst providing value over handmade Japanese items. As such they are good pots, providing reassurance that they are well made with good frost resistance.
This particular pot has a great shape with the traditional dark blue "Ruri-Yu" glaze which traditionally would have been very expensive due to the Cobalt required. This one has a slight speckle to the glaze. I estimate this pot to be around 20 years old.
Condition: Unused, excellent.
Shipping:
Shipping within UK (Except Channel Islands) is free. I use Royal Mail usually, they seem to deliver on time and have good tracking. I can use Evri or DPD if you prefer, just leave me a note on checkout.
Europe & World - please ask for a quote for shipping. Any import fees are the responsibility of the customer.
Price:
I try to price competitively, reasonable offers are invited, if you've seen something similar and think I'm way off the mark, drop me a message.
UK buyers: Please note import costs when comparing this item with items overseas! These typically comprise: the shipping fee, and, on arrival, you will pay VAT at 20%, possibly import duty and a customs clearance fee. My items are simply the price advertised plus optional UK shipping.
Returns:
I guarantee that the pot condition is as described and will take it back if you aren't happy with it. Items are returned at the buyers cost & risk. Please be aware that most UK couriers will NOT insure ceramic items, however it is certainly easier than returning overseas. Please get in touch if you want to return an item.
