Formal description:

Artisan made Japanese bonsai pot from the Hokido kiln of Tokoname. Rounded corner rectangle with middle band, cut feet and hand signed with a nail by the potter.

External dimensions:
107 x 80 x 35mm (4¼ x 3⅛ x 1⅜ in)

Internal dimensions:
98 x 68 x 25mm (3⅞ x 2⅝ x 1 in)

Informal information:

A particularly refined shohin grey rectangle from Hokido in excellent condition. The first and third photos are after a light oiling which brings out the character of the clay which has a great mottled patina. Grey Hokido pots are (slightly!) more affordable than the vermillion red clay ones, and make excellent pots for conifer species.

Hokido of Tokoname, active for just 15 years, his pots are relatively expensive, perhaps because of the quality, perhaps because of the smaller number of pots produced.

Condition: Used, excellent with patina.

Returns:
