Internal size: 38 x 26 x 9cm (15 x 11 x 3½in)
Informal information:
A fine old Canton (Guangzhou, China) pot with a rich, clear green glaze.
Pots from this era are 50-80 years old, made with thick walls and base, and often have a slight wobble, as this one does. Very solid, it just needs a corner propping up a little.
The pot rings clear indicating it is still sound and without structural cracks. A few of the drips have broken off along the years, please check the photos.
This shape reappears in Japanese pots, in particular the Yamaaki kiln produced refined variations of pots like this.
