Handmade shohin Japanese bonsai pot by Hattori of Tokoname, rounded rectangle with incised corners and middle band, internal rim, cut feet, seal of Hattori underneath.

Condition: A small chip to the glaze inside the rim has been repaired so that it does not distract the eye, see photo 11. Price has been reduced for this. Otherwise, excellent and some patina.

External dimensions:

Informal information:

A deeper shohin pot from Hattori, making tree care easier. The dark Ruri-Yu glaze has a slight crackle and wells to almost black on the ripples of the pot.
Hattori, Mr. Hattori Tomoyuki, is a prolific potter from Tokoname, who studied ceramics in Germany and started making bonsai pots in 1977. He has won many awards, he makes lots of different glazes, his nail signed pots are handmade and great value.
