Formal Description:
Handmade pot by Nakano Gyouzan (Tokoname). Rectangle with external rim with lip, incised corners, lower band, stepped feet, signature of Gyouzan underneath with commemorative dedication.

Informal Information:
An early, first rate handmade piece from Gyouzan. A classic design, possibly mould made, definitely hand finished. The dedication reads "Exhibiton of masterpieces", so a special piece made for a show.
I'm guessing it's from before his later handmade signature style developed. The clay colour and patina are fantastic, a special pot from this master potter.
Condition: Used, patina, small chips to two feet (see pics), slight wobble, otherwise excellent.
Nakano Gyouzan, Tokoname, is renowned for his glazed and particularly unglazed pots. His pots have featured at almost every Kokufu-Ten for more than 30 years. He is a potter from Tokoname, you can find videos of him making pots on Youtube. Mould made pots are excellent, hand made works are masterpieces. He makes some absolutely huge pots, and latterly he has explored new ideas of pots and stands combined. An artist never at rest.

EU: Please get in touch with me before placing an order. I will quote you a price that includes shipping and taxes. This is the fastest way to get items without customs delays.
US: Please get in touch. Currently 0% tax on import of art works and cultural items so the price will be lower, but I will need to quote for shipping. I'm not shipping pots over 12in to US.
International: - please ask for a quote for shipping. Any import fees are the responsibility of the customer. I'm not shipping pots over 12in internationally.

Returns:
I guarantee that the pot condition is as described and will take it back if you aren't happy with it. Items are returned at the buyers cost & risk. Please be aware that most UK couriers will NOT insure ceramic items, however it is certainly easier than returning overseas. Please get in touch if you want to return an item.
Breakage in Transit:
Sadly, despite the best packaging, it does occassionally happen. Please prepare photo/ video evidence and contact me at the earliest opportunity.
