Formal Description:
Handmade bonsai pot from my "Grain of Time" kiln, rectangle, external rim with lip, lower band, hand carved feet, carved picture windows to four sides with water motif.
External dimensions:176 x 138 x 80mm (7⅛ x 5½ x 3⅛in)
Internal dimensions:
150 x 110 x 50mm (6 x 4⅜ x 2in)
Informal Information:
The water series evolved from some mark making exercises. I'm particularly fond of 'empty' windows on pots, there is something captivating about a frame without a picture, the absence is like a question, just... hanging. In Buddhism and Japanese aesthetics, this is 'Wabi'.
The water marks were meant to be one step back from that emptiness towards the subjective, a semi-abstract subject for meditation.
The feet are a copy from an ancient Chinese pot... I'm working on them!

I guarantee that the pot condition is as described and will take it back if you aren't happy with it. Items are returned at the buyers cost & risk. Please be aware that most UK couriers will NOT insure ceramic items, however it is certainly easier than returning overseas. Please get in touch if you want to return an item.
