Formal Description:

Handmade bonsai pot from my "Grain of Time" kiln, rectangle, external rim with lip, lower band, recessed base, reeded feet, carved picture windows to four sides with water motif. Signed and numbered underneath.

External dimensions:
176 x 138 x 70mm (7⅛ x 5½ x 2¾in)


Internal dimensions:
150 x 110 x 50mm (6 x 4⅜ x 2in)
 

Informal Information:

The water series evolved from some mark making exercises. I'm particularly fond of 'empty' windows on pots, there is something captivating about a frame without a picture, the absence is like a question, just... hanging. In Buddhism and Japanese aesthetics, this is 'Wabi'.

The water marks were meant to be one step back from that emptiness towards the subjective, a semi-abstract subject for meditation.

I guarantee that the pot condition is as described and will take it back if you aren't happy with it. Items are returned at the buyers cost & risk.
