Hand made Japanese bonsai pot from the Akira Shouzan kiln of Tokoname. Square with external rim, lower bead, cut feet, seal of Akira Shouzan (Jukousan).

Informal information:
An easy to use, well made pot,used, this is at least 20 years old and probably older. Hand made and signed.
Condition: Used, excellent.
Jukousan of Akira Shouzan kiln, real name Fumizo Watanabe, born 1945. In 1971 joined his father Akira Watanabe and was firing the climbing kiln. He built large and small gas kilns, making small to medium sized unglazed wares, using hand pressed in mould and slab building techniques. Has a particular interest in pear skin effects, and also kiln change glazes in his small gas kiln. His work is varied. From 2005 on, mostly teaching.
