Informal information:

Almost 2ft wide, and deeper than most large pots, this is substantial, and will be heavy when planted!

Ideal for a forest with lots of room to accomodate a creative arrangement incorporating larger trees or ones with substantial root mass.

The clay colour is different and will suit trees with a hint of yellow in the bark or wood, for example, Spruce, Larch, Magnolia, Oak etc. There's a slight speckle and a very fine finish to it. An elegant pot.

Condition: Used, excellent.

Keizan Hisada, real name Sadao Hisada, born 1930, son to Shizuo Hisada (b 1896), who opened the Hisada factory in 1929 and predominantly made bricks. In 1951 the workshop was destroyed by heavy rain, and from that point, Sadao dedicated himself to bonsai pots. His younger brothers Sohei and Kingo were also employed at the workshop. His works are purely unglazed and usually on the larger side, although Shohin works do exist. Designs are usually based upon ancient Chinese masterpieces. He is also famous as the teacher of Gyouzan who is the pre-eminent potter of unglazed bonsai pots in Tokoname. According to the Bonki Encyclopaedia, "...the handmade works have soft lines".
