A whole mountain range stretching out in just 40 centimetres! The effect when viewed from the front at the right height is superb - a grand view of a mountainous massif that is very believable. With the right lighting it also suggests huge distances.
The Crepe texture this stone gets it's name from provides all the small details, and whilst the mountain has been worked, the snow capped effect is very good.
There is no daiza, this listing is just for the stone. If you'd like a suiban such as the ones shown in the pictures (not included), please get in touch and I can do a good discount. Both the daiza in the photos are currently available, see the Suiban Collection.
Crepe stone is less often used for Suiseki, but when it works it creates a great impression.

Fujieda or Crepe (Chirimen) Stone – Fujieda stone originates from the Seto river in Shizuoka Prefecture on Honshu, Japan. The Seto river in the Seto River System is 30km long and flows through Fujieda City out into Suruga Bay. Fujieda stone is also known as Crepe / Chirimen stone, the name comes from the surface texture that looks like Chirimen silk, which has a crinkled surface.
Fujieda stone is sometimes considered lower quality as Suiseki as it is often not as dense or hard as other stones, but there are other softer stones that are generally accepted. As usual, it comes down to the impression each individual stone makes upon the viewer, and Crepe stone has a surface that suggests large views or mountains, which can make it very impressive.
