Informal information:

Rarely available large semi-cascade pot, this is a perfect match for a larger flowering semi-cascade tree. The pot has quite some patina, and this could be toned down somewhat if that's what was desired, but on no account clean the top of the rim or the foot ring! These are really characterful parts of the pot and tell of it's age.

Condition: Used, patina. excellent.

Koyo, Mr. Aiba Kouichirou, born 1944, from a familiy of potters. He founded the Koyo kiln in the 1970's, prolific output, strong, well made frost resistant pots; his work is always very popular. Perhaps his most famous glaze is the green crystal oribe, which changed over time and really gained it's own identity apart from the famous ones of Tofukuji and Ino Shukuho. His pots are reliable as well as great to look at.
