Informal information:

A classic nanban from Ryugaku Marutsune. The clay is typical of Tokoname, the fabric patterning is very traditional. The glaze splash adds interest and can be placed to the left or right, complementing the lean of an informal or bunjin styled tree. Perfect for a tall Pine or other conifer.

Condition: used, excellent.

Ryugaku Marutsune, real name Takashi Matsumoto, but run as a small business with his wife. Production had stopped by 2005. Clay used was Tokoname from near Bizen, for a rustic flavour. Nanban was a speciality and very popular.

International: - please ask for a quote for shipping. Any import fees are the responsibility of the customer. I'm not shipping pots over 12in internationally.

UK buyers: Please note import costs when comparing this item with items overseas! These typically comprise: the shipping fee, and, on arrival, you will pay VAT at 20%, possibly import duty and a customs clearance fee. My items are simply the price advertised.

Returns:

I guarantee that the pot condition is as described and will take it back if you aren't happy with it. Items are returned at the buyers cost & risk. Please be aware that most UK couriers will NOT insure ceramic items, however it is certainly easier than returning overseas. Please get in touch if you want to return an item.

Breakage in Transit:

Sadly, despite the best packaging, it does occassionally happen. Please prepare photo/ video evidence and contact me at the earliest opportunity.
