Informal information:
This pot is at least 70 years old, and yet looks like it could have come out of the kiln yesterday. Then maybe you notice some age to the clay, or the light touch of patina on the rim, still it looks almost new.
The design suggests modernism of the 20th Century, the porcelain form is thin and evenly made, the glaze is a wonderful, bright lemon yellow, welling in the grooves, and applied right to the bottom of the feet.
A great piece for Ino kiln fans.
Condition: Used, patina, excellent.
Ino Kiichiro - 2nd Generation potter of the Ino kiln. Retired in 1955. Less famous than Ino Shukuho (3rd gen), he was a contemporary of Tofukuji, and Tofukuji fired a number of pots in the Ino kiln, and shared glazes with Kiichiro. Pots can be large, small, glazed, painted, thrown, slab built or carved. A superb artist potter and very collectible.
